Who's behind it
Vaulted Roots is a project by a retired Canadian individual who is a hobby developer. It is built for the love of it: a clean, distraction-free way for families to record their lineage without paywalls or data harvesting.
Your privacy
Your tree never leaves your device. Everything lives in your own browser's storage on your own computer or phone. There are no servers holding your data, no accounts, no logins. The only files that move are the ones you export yourself (GEDCOM or backup) and choose to share.
No data selling. Ever. Your family information is never sold, shared, or used to train AI. If a paid tier is added one day, it will be for extra features — never access to your data.
One honest footnote: anonymous page-visit counts are measured (cookieless, no cookies, no personal data, nothing about your tree). That's the only signal that leaves your browser, and it carries no family information.
